Train from Brig to Montreux - in the Brig station.

This is an "Inter-City" train.  Usually double decked (upper and lower seating).

It is a very long train!!!

I'm seated in the upper seating area - pretty much by myself for most of the trip!

Heading west from Brig, and further along the Rhöne River, there are vineyards.

It was a beautiful day in Montreux on the banks of Lake Geneva.

There are only 9 seats in "Premier Class" which I booked several months in advance.

In Zweisimmen the track changes gauge. Only the Golden Pass Express can handle both gauges! The carriage wheels change!

Here you can see both tracks with the narrow gauge engine pulling away.  Our carriage is now the engine!

The engineer is now in place ready to continue our journey.

I rode in the open air carriage up to Schynige Platte.  A little chilly, but really neat-o.

The sun setting as I had my dinner.  It was absolutely beautiful.  The 4-course dinner took about 2-1/2 hours.
